EEA Youtube Show Highlights the New Role of Distributors in Brands and Engagement

This video on the Enterprise Engagement Alliance Youtube channel interviews a brand representative and two distributors on their growing role in the worlds of brands, rewards and recognition programs, and other engagement services.

Distributors at the front lines of selling brands, engagement and related services share their views on the role of distributors in a new show on the Enterprise Engagement Alliance Youtube channel.

The Role of Distributors in Brands and Engagement” discusses how distributors are pivoting to offer new services because the promotional products business is probably never coming back to its former self, says Guy Achtzehn, President of the Marketing & Sales Group and the Promotional Bookstore, an incentive representatives firm. “Many distributors were hoping that the traditional business would come back and have been pounding and pounding the market, but it’s not going to come back in the same way.” Distributors, he says, need to be problem solvers and learn the process of “discovery” sales to understand the new needs of clients.

Points out Eric Pehrson, Promotional Problem Solver at Creative Studio Promotions, “Because distributors call on so many people in human resources, sales, and marketing management, there are opportunities for us to help clients solve many engagement issues beyond promotional products, including a wide variety of engagement solutions beyond even brands and engagement.”

Woody Kaye, President, CEO at Corporate Values, Inc., says he removed the product catalog from his CorporateValues.com web site because his role is to help clients find solutions particular to their needs, not compete with online services that are commoditizing the business. He says that more of his traditional gifting and promotional business involves brands, and that he has launched CVEngagement.com to help organizations address broader engagement needs, including surprise and delight and engagement technology, and other engagement solutions.
