Global Hotel Expedia Card Adds Experiences

Supporting the growing focus on experiences in travel, the Global Hotel Card, powered by Expedia, now offers access to the TripAdvisor.com community of tours, activities, and experiences through an online platform at GlobalExperiencescard.com.

Global ExperiencesThe Global Experiences Card provides access to over 350,000 experiences worldwide, which the company says is the largest inventory of experiences for a gift card program in the incentive industry. The card offers experiences in 120 countries, issued in 30 currencies and in nine languages, says Peter Friend, founder and CEO. The tours, activities, and experiences category had over $120 billion of revenue annually before the pandemic, he says.

The supply inventory on the website is powered by Viator, a Tripadvisor.com division. Global Hotel Card Powered by Expedia is a US -based company founded by Peter Friend in 2005 reportedly as the first gift card powered by an online travel agency to the incentive, employee engagement and loyalty industry.

The hotel website GlobelHotelcard.com is independently owned and operated by Global Hotel Card, Inc. The hotel inventory on the website is supplied by Expedia Group, a division of Expedia, Inc. one of the world’s largest travel companies. Global Hotel Card is the first affiliate to be granted this unique co-branding opportunity by Expedia to the incentive and loyalty industry, Friend says. With over 500,000 hotels, vacation rentals and private homes worldwide, offered in real time through Expedia Group, Global Hotel Cards says it has the largest inventory of accommodations for a gift card program in the incentive industry. Its supply reportedly covers 120 countries and over 350 major hotel brands, as well as150,000 vacation rentals sourced from VRBO, another Expedia company. The hotel gift cards are also available in 30 currencies and nine languages.

Explains Friend, “With over $75 million in hotel bookings since our launch, customers can feel confident with the success of our B2B program. Our goal is to make global feel local.”
