Tillo, the UK-based rewards, incentives and gift card technology company, has acquired Amilon, an Italian provider of digital gift cards, incentives and employee benefits, in a transaction the companies say will significantly expand their international reach and capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed.
According to Tillo, the combined companies expect to process more than £3 billion in gift cards in 2026, representing projected year-over-year growth of 30%. Amilon separately puts the expected volume at more than €3.5 billion.
The acquisition is noteworthy to the rewards and recognition marketplace because it combines gift card distribution with processing technology, employee benefits, incentives and other forms of what the companies describe as digital value.
Broader International Reach
Tillo says its platform currently operates in 40 markets and 25 currencies and connects businesses with more than 4,000 global brands. The company is headquartered in the UK with offices in the US, Australia and South Africa. Founded in 2007, Amilon says it pioneered digital gift cards in Italy and has expanded into three primary businesses: Digital Reward Solutions, Retail Tech, and Media & Advertising. It has operations in Italy, Spain and Poland. Together, the companies will have a direct presence in the UK, Italy, US, Spain, Poland, South Africa and Australia.
Tillo Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Alex Preece says the combination is intended to create an international digital-value platform offering greater scale and reach. The company says its longer-term strategy is to become a global technology infrastructure provider for rewards, incentives and gift cards.
Amilon Management Remains in Place
Amilon Co-CEOs and founders Andrea Verri and Fabio Regazzoni will continue to lead the company and are reinvesting in the combined business. Amilon says CIO Renato Buontempo also will remain in his role and that existing customers, partners and brands will see no changes in commercial terms, contacts or service standards as a result of the transaction.
Verri and Regazzoni say the combination is designed to bring together Tillo’s international technology and reach with Amilon’s presence in southern Europe and its capabilities in digital value, incentives and engagement.
Tillo has been backed since 2025 by growth investor Tenzing, which the company says has supported its international expansion and acquisition strategy. For the rewards and recognition field, the transaction provides another example of the increasing convergence of gift card distribution, digital payments and processing, employee benefits, incentives and engagement technology into broader international platforms.Enterprise Engagement Alliance Services
