Meaningful Meetings Update—How to Address the Growing Attendance Challenge, March 4, 1 pm ET

This EEA RRN YouTube show follows up on a YouTube show 18 months ago and then eight months ago on the need for changing event formats in light of the ability for people to access so much information online. Panelists also discussed the opportunity to provide more impact metrics to corporate sponsors. Latest surveys indicate a concerning decline in repeat attendance at many discretionary events. Is this is a trend? If so, why, and what can be done about it. That's the focus of this latest Meaningful Meetings update.

Register here for the March 4, 1 pm ET live show.

Panelists include: Jaki Baskow, Principal of Las Vegas Speakers Bureau; Greg Bogue, Vice President of Experience at Maritz; Andrea Doyle, Executive Editor of Skift; Marc Matthews, Founder of Pulse Experiential Travel,  Hillary Smith, Global Head, Creative and Marketing, Creative Group Inc.

This show and feature article addresses solutions to evidence that some associations and other discretionary events are facing increasing attendance struggles, not only because of economic uncertainties and time constraints, but because of increasing questions about the value of some face-to-face events. Are some discretionary events finding it more difficult to attract repeat attendance? Are many organizations failing to clearly measure the impact of their event activities to discover what's wrong?

Veteran motivational event panelists will weigh in on the state of event attendance in various sectors, the degree to which event sponsors have begun to raise alarms, and corporate and association sponsor receptivity to new innovative formats to attract and retain attendees. This could include involving people in interactive sessions focused on addressing the purpose, goals, objectives of the organization, team, or event; other innovative formats that foster far greater interactions; authentic off-site experiences that enable people to discover local cultures together, and new and better ways to measure event impact.
